Friday Night Nails

I wanted something to match the Candy lipstick Im wearing today so tonights nails are a bit of a twist on the rockstar theme. I call them Candy Twinkles.
I achieved this look using two coats of Opi's Elephantastic pink, just a sprinkling of pink glitter ( this is only meant to add a twinkle to the nail rather than full coverage like the rockstars.) Finished off with two coats of Seche Vite topcoat.

 Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Lipstick Fridays Estee Lauder Candy

Good morning everyone.
Its FRIDAY - woo hoo !!

As I peered out the window this morning I noticed something quite unusual.
The sun was out !!! Yay !!

This calls for a splash of colour I thought - so today Im wearing Estee Lauder's Long Lasting Lipstick in Candy. This lipstick is highly pigmented and enriched with apricot kernel, shea butter and murumuru butter which leave your lips feeling moisturised and smooth. Candy is a long lasting, cool toned, cerise pink with a hint of shimmer - great for those who want something more vibrant but find they cant wear very strong shades of lipstick.
Gorgeous for Spring.
Candy can be purchased from Estee Lauder for £18.50.

Im a Rockstar !!!! Shellac Rockstar

I was a little bored today so what did I decide to do ?
I experimented with Shellac Rockstar Nails.
This is basically glitter cured into your Shellac Manicure and you can really achieve some outstanding results.
These colours obviously dont go together but I was too impatient to see what they looked like so I just used one on each finger.
What do you guys think ?
This is my first attempt at these so please be kind.
My favourite is the purple although the holographic rockstar is pretty stunning too.

Champagne Rockstar

Holographic Rockstar

Purple Rockstar

Coral Rockstar

Anyway I dont think that my boss will be too enamoured with my multi coloured rockstar fingers so unfortunately Im off to remove my little experimentation (GUTTED) Im kind of loving it ha ha xx

Mesothelioma cancer is a horrible thing for any woman to be diagnosed with. When her doctor informs her that she has this terrible disease, several things will happen. She will feel confused, lost, angry, depressed, upset and many other emotions that cover the entire spectrum of feelings that a person can experience. This is a very quick way for a woman to lose her confidence. She may feel powerless almost instantly, knowing that she is completely at the hands of her mesothelioma doctors when it comes to fighting her cancer.

When a woman begins her treatment for cancer, she may feel these emotions come on strong, yet again. This is not a bad thing; being emotional means that a woman is dealing with her pain and learning to live with her disease. Her anger will help her to fight her cancer. However, the feeling of being powerless and having no confidence is going to make her road to recovery a much longer journey. The quality of life that a person has when undergoing treatment for cancer is directly related to how well she responds to her treatments and how well she feels. Feeling powerless and less than beautiful is not going to help to improve the quality of her life, which is not good.

Fortunately, there is a way that a woman with cancer can feel more powerful and beautiful despite her cancer diagnosis. This is through fashion and beauty. It is no secret that fashion and beauty play a big role in the way women feel about themselves, which is why retail therapy is always such good therapy for a woman after a long, hard day. The same holds true for women with cancer. Feeling beautiful will make her feel more confident and more powerful, which is good for her treatment program.

Makeup is a great way for women to up their confidence level, especially organic makeup. Not only is it free of harsh chemicals and additives, it is good for the environment and for her skin. Organic makeup, such as Bare Minerals, is a great way for women to feel beautiful and do something healthy at the same time. This is makeup that looks natural but still covers what women perceive are their flaws. It is light and it stays on, even when a woman is involved in an activity such as swimming or lounging in the sauna or hot tub.

When it comes to beauty and fashion, makeup is the best way to turn a woman’s mood around in an instant. She will feel more gorgeous, more spectacular and more beautiful if she has great makeup and going organic with her makeup will only make her more fabulous.

Friday Night Nails Pink Friday

As a rule Im not a huge fan of creamy pink nail polish, I feel like there is something about the pigment in them that never gives you a wonderful smooth glossy finish. I recently purchased OPI's Pink Friday to add to my professional manicure kit and tonight I thought, well as its there I might as well give it a go. I love OPI nail polish - the size of the brush is perfect, the consistency of the polish is fantastic, it dries quickly and you always achieve a lovely glossy finish.
Pink Friday is a beautiful creamy candy pink colour but I cant say that it was a dream to apply. The first coat was quite streaky and although the second coat improved things slightly, up close I dont get the perfect finish I normally achieve when painting my nails, however that said I usually find that with creamy pinks. That said though I think its a lovely colour for brightening your mood during this horrible weather and although Im not usually a fan of this type of colour I think this one
 could convert me!

What do you guys think?
Have you jumped on the Pink Friday band wagon yet ?

Lipstick Fridays Chantecaille Angelica

Today Im wearing a brand new lipstick in my collection - Chantecaille's Angelica.
This is the first time I have ever purchased anything from Chantecaille and I have to admit that I was tempted by this because it was in the Space NK sale for the bargain price of £10 !!

Angelica looks like a deep rosey/brown colour in the tube and swatched on the hand.

I was amazed by the texture and pigmentation of this lipstick its extremely creamy and moist and has a lovely colour and shine to it when its applied to the lips. These lipsticks contain a special amino acid emollient which creates a film that is impervious to water and oil and, although it didn't survive my morning cuppa, I did still feel that there was something on my lips helping keep them smooth and moisturised. Angelica is not highly perfumed and is enriched with vitamins A and C plus has the added bonus of an spf of 6-8 to give your lips extra protection when you need it.
This colour is sold out on the Space NK website at the moment but there are still a few other bargains left in the sale if you want to check it out.
Has anyone else tried Chantecaille lipsticks ?
Whats your favourite colour?

Friday Night Nails Branwens Feather

Hi Lovelies
Sorry to bombard you all with blog posts this evening !
Tonight Im wearing the fantastic Butter London polish in Branwens Feather. This stunning polish is quick to dry, has an excellent consistency, and it flows easily across the nails allowing for precise application. The one thing I will say though is that I do find the brush slightly small but then I think I have big nails - ha ! At first glance this polish looks black but as it catches the light you can see that its a very deep purple/magenta hue to it with rainbow micro-glitter particles.
I achieved this finish with three coats and I have to say it does remind me slightly of Zoya's Jem only maybe a little darker - what do you guys think ? Butter London Branwen's Feather can be purchased from Butter London for £12.

Have a lovely weekend.

Lipstick Fridays Clarins Joli Rouge

Hi everyone

Today Im wearing a lipstick from the Clarins Colour Breeze Collection, Joli Rouge in Baby Pink. Clarins have an amazing range of cosmetics and I do have to confess to being a bit of a Clarins junky over the years. This lipstick is a little gritty to apply due to the shimmering particles and it is not very highly pigmented so it does take a good couple of swipes to build up the colour. I would describe this as a cool toned sheer baby pink. It definately adds just a hint of colour but makes your lips look lovely and plump and very kissable! It also contains mango butter and vitamin E which will help to help moisturise and protect your lips. Clarins Joli Rouge Baby Pink lipstick can be purchased from Escentual.com for a special price of £13.20.

Have your tried any Clarins Lipsticks ?
Whats your favourite?

Friday Night Nails Zoya Jana

Hi everyone

I am having a rather subdued Easter weekend so thought I would go for a nice subtle colour this evening. Tonight I am wearing Zoya Jana which is desribed as putty coloured nail polish with mauve and purple undertones. I love Zoya nail polish and you can achieve a perfect finish in two coats. This dried quickly and gives a beautiful shiny finish. Zoya Jana can be purchased from LaLaLondon for £9.99. I think that Zoya do a fantastic range of nail polish in beautiful colours - Ive got my eye on Marina and Adina so keep your eyes peeled for some swatches of those in the coming weeks.
What are your favourite colours at the moment ?

Lipstick Fridays Nivea Big Berry

Hi Lovelies

Its Good Friday today so I hope that you all have some time off  to enjoy yourselves and if you are anything like me - recharge your batteries. Ive been so busy over the last few weeks I hardly seem to have had any time to blog which I find rather annoying ! My little box of things to blog about seems to be getting bigger and I have a list of posts I want to share with you all too ! Hopefully over the next few weeks I will get some spare time to sit down catch up on my posts.

Anyway back to the matter at hand - today I am wearing a Nivea Colour Shine lipstick in Big Berry.
The thing that excites me most about this lipstick ?
Is the fact that it was free !

I also really love the colour of this lipstick although it is not highly pigmented it does give a wash of subtle colour and shine to your lips, I wouldnt describe it is a berry colour though, I would say it is more of a cool mauve. This is not a long lasting lipstick - I found it lasted just over an hour on my lips. It glides on smoothly but I did have to give it a couple of swipes to build up the colour you see in the swatches - it feels more like a really silky gloss on your lips and not a lipstick. This lipstick also has the added benefit of containing jojoba and avocado oil which I find is adding some much needed moisture. This weather seems to be playing havoc with my lips just now !

Things that I dont like about this lipstick - the taste and smell of it !
Ok I know that you arent supposed to eat your lipstick,  but its on your lips,  its hard not to end up tasting some of it and it does leave a bit
of an aftertaste ?! It also has that indescribable lipstick smell that conjures up memories of something your gran would have worn twenty years ago. This said though - it was free and if you would like to try it out the offer is still on here all you have to do is pop it in your basket and when you are checking out in the voucher code box type freenivealippy - you will only pay £1.99 for postage. Half Price Perfumes also have some fantastic offers on Stila makeup - check it out and you might grab yourself a little Easter bargain.
