Lipstick Fridays Revlon Just Bitten

Im not usually a matchy, matchy type of girl and sometimes there's nothing better than to get a good colour clash going on but since the emphasis is on my lovely bright nails today I felt I should go for something with a hint of colour - but not too much, so Im wearing Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous which is a gorgeous coral/orange tinted balm. These chubby crayon style lip pencils are easy to apply, glide softly across the lips and are quite pigmented. They are just the right mix of lipstick and gloss and I love the peppermint scent, and although they are quite glossy they last a fair few hours and wear evenly without any signs of flaking. I know that some people have found them quite drying but I havent found that at all - different strokes for different folks as they say and I seem to have eternally dry lips !!
What do you guys think of the Revlon Balms? Do you have any good colour recommendations?

Revlon is on 3 for 2 at Superdrug at the moment and the Just Bitten Balms can be purchased for £7.99.

MeMeMe Goddess Rocks

Hi Lovelies

I have wanted to try MeMeMe Cosmetics for a while and because I love anything which will make me look a bit more bronzed and healthy and give me a luminous glow I decided to try Goddess Rocks. I seem to be hooked on buying blushers, bronzers and illuminators right now ! Do you ever find you go through stages like that ?

Goddess Rocks (love the name) are luxury bronzing rocks which help you give a gorgeous sun-kissed glow.

My initial thoughts were - I loved the packaging but Im bad for just chucking things into my handbag and I dont think the tub would with stand too much of that but thats no problem cos they look great on my dressing table and to be honest I should really be using a makeup bag anyway instead of just throwing things into my handbag !

They also come packed with a little sponge in the top to keep the little gold and bronze rocks from breaking up in transit.

The product itself is beautiful - little bronze and gold rocks which deliver that glow and luminoucity without it looking overly glittery looking - now I do love a bit of glitter but sometimes you are just looking for something a bit more natural.

Take your blusher/bronzer brush and swirl it around in the tub then sweep over your cheek bones and decollete to add a beautiful glow to your skin. You can also use the individual rocks as eye shadow or on your lips with your lipgloss.

You can go for a more natural glow

Or you can build up the colour

Im really impressed with the quality of this product and it will definately encourage me to try other products from the range  - they give you a gorgeous sunkissed glow, have multiple uses and would fab for the holiday season to enhance your tan. You can purchase Goddess Rocks from Me Me Me cosmetics online for £12.50.

Has anyone else tried MeMeMe Cosmetics ?
I would be interested to hear what your favourite products are.

Mua Love Hearts Lip Balms

As I was doing a spot of internet browsing I came across the new Love Hearts Collection from Makeup Academy. This is such a sweet collection - pardon the pun - and there are five lip balms and six bottles of nail varnish to collect. The lip balms and nail polishes all have fab names like Sugar Lips and I Want You and can be purchased from the MUA store online for £2.00.

I decided to buy some of the lip balms at £2.00 - I thought well at that price you cant go wrong.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these - they feel lovely on your lips and not at all sticky so they are nice to wear and the feel really moisturising. My lips had felt rather dry this morning but after a day of wearing this they now feel nicely moisturised and quite soft.  The only thing I would say is I was kind of expecting them to have a fruity smell and taste which they dont but other than that they are fab little pots of balm to keep in your handbag to give you lips a hint of colour and shine.

I think these are a great little bargain for £2.00 - Whats your favourite lip balm ?

Superdrug Splurge

I had a little splurge in Superdrug a few weekends ago. I call it a splurge but it didnt exactly cost alot.
Im always getting sucked in by expensive cosmetic purchases but these little beauties prove you dont have to spend alot to get good results.

Here are my purchases

I bought the Saturdays Magnetism Nail Polish in Notorious Silver, Vaseline Creme Brulee Lip Balm, Maybelline Forever Strong nail polish in Rosy Sand, 2true nail polish in Shade 9, 2true eyeshadow in Shade 10 and 2true eyeshadow dazzler in Shade 3.

I have to say Im quite impressed with all my purchases except the Vaseline Creme Brulee ! I dont think it smells or tastes like Creme Brulee so I think I'll stick with my Cocoa Butter Vaseline for lips for the moment.

I was really surprised by the Saturdays Magnetism nail polish - It cost £3 for the magnet and £6 for the polish - it went on smoothly, great sized brush and had a really nice effect. I will definately be heading back to purchase some more of these polishes in other colours. It didnt last long before chipping but then I chop and change nail polishes all the time but it would be great for a night out.

Another surprise was my 2true purchases.  I tried the eyeshadow tester in the store and thought it was really creamy and quite pigmented for the price - I didnt think I could go wrong when it was three products for £4.99. The polish went on really nicely and to be honest I thought it felt a little more expensive than it was. This lasted me two days before chipping and I thought it was a really nice neutral colour.

I also tried out the eyeshadows I bought - I thought the lilac colours would be excellent on green eyes.
I used Urban Decay primer in Sin all over the eyelid area, then I applied a shadow from the Urban Decay Naked Palette in Virgin all over the eyelid and brow bone.
I applied the lighter lilac shade up to the crease and used a brush to tap the eyeshadow dazzler all over this. I used the darker shade in the crease of my eye and also lined underneath my lower lashes with this, I then  followed up with a coat of Mac Zoom Mascara.

Finally here is the Maybelline Polish in Rosy Sand it cost £4.09. It gave a nice finish and again lasted a couple of days before chipping. I will definately be looking at other colours in the Nudes range.

I think Superdrug might be my new favourite shop.
