What did you get for Christmas?

Its New Years Eve and I hope you are all doing well and had a fantastic Christmas. Ive had a few requests and emails asking what I received for Christmas... Well I was a  very lucky girl and got quite a few gifts from my beauty wishlist from my wonderful hubby, so today I want to show you a few of my pressies, the Urban Decay products were on my wishlist and there were also a couple of presents from family and friends which were highly unexpected - they are all beauty and nail products - they know me so well ha ha,  I will show you these in more details during January but speaking of January - I am going on a beauty diet. Thats right I am going on a strict no beauty products buying policy but I have lots of exciting posts planned so keep an eye out for those.  Ive had a little splurge in the sales as well, so I have a few hauls coming up to show you and I also plan to do my beauty favourites of 2012 in January which will have lots of reviews and top picks for beauty, hair and nail products.
I will also be starting a beauty clinic where you will be able to pose your beauty questions to me, whether it be about nails, skin or well being, or anything else beauty related - I am a trained beautician so I would love to be able to help you with any burning questions you have. I would also love to know what was on your beauty wishlist and what lovely pressies you got so feel free to share.

Happy Christmas

I wanted to check in to say Happy Christmas to you all. I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your support,  I really, really appreciate it - sometimes I have to pinch myself because I cant believe people are actually reading my blog - eh !! How did that happen ?!

I hope Santa was very good to you all and I hope that your dreams came true this Christmas morning, now on a lighter note Im off to Chrimbo lunch - I have my fat pants on today so Im off to stuff myself stupid !! Ha xx

Im back

Hi lovelies

I hope you are all doing well.

Apologies for my absence over the last few weeks - Ive had a few personal problems to sort out but I think things are back on track now.

I recently tried out some self tan by Vita Liberata which has given me the most natural colour I have ever achieved from a bottle so I have a review on that coming up - definitely worth a try.

My love for neutral nails seems to have disappeared with the sun !

I have a fab colour from the Shellac range on my fingers and toes which is just great for summer so keep an eye out for some swatches of that. Been trying out some Neom bath oil,Tom Ford Polish and Dior lippy - cant wait to tell you all about them xxx

Anyway hope you are all enjoying the lovely weather.

1. Why did you begin blogging?

I have always been a huge fan of beauty and makeup products and as a beautician people are always asking me for advice on what products would work for them so it was a natural progression from there.

2. What is your favourite Drug Store cosmetic brand?

I love Barry M and Bourjois

3. What is your favourite High End cosmetic brand?

Do I need to pick just one ? I love Mac, Bobbi Brown and Clarins cosmetics

4. What is your favourite Clothing Shop?

Topshop but I do love going to smaller shops where you can buy more unique items

5. Where are you from?

Scotland

6. Which Country would you most like to visit?

I would love to tour Australia

7. What is your favourite Season in the year and why?

I love summer because sometimes when we are really lucky it doesnt rain - ha

8. How old are you?

That'd be telling ha xx Im in my late thirties - thats all I'll divulge

9. What your dream job be?

I would love to be a Spa Inspector - I dont know if its even a job but I'd love to visit different Spa's and test out the treatments and evaluate the environment - this idea came to me when I recently went for a Spa day and the cleanliness of the treatment room was very questionable - it was a very well respected hotel so I was very surprised by this.

10. What is your favourite genre of music?

I have pretty varied tastes when it comes to music - it depends what mood Im

11. What TV programme is your guilty pleasure?

I love watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition - Gutted that its ending !!

Sunday Bath Time

One of my most favourite things to do on a Sunday evening is to have a nice, long, hot relaxing bath.

I love a good bubble bath - I light some of my favourite candles, pop on some chilled out tunes and close the bathroom door.

At the moment one of my favourite bath creams is the Skin Nourishing Milk Bath by Elemis which you can purchase from Time To Spa for £39.90 for a 400ml bottle. This bath cream has a milk protein base which is "rich in nourishing vitamins, amino acids and minerals" it also contains natural plant collagen from Oat Extract and Japanese Camellia Oil which helps to "feed the skin whilst keeping it soft and supple". The skin on my legs oftens gets quite dry and itchy and I have found that has really helped calm it down .

Now this is quite expensive so I use it very sparingly when Im lucky enough to have a bottle. The bottle Ive got at the moment has lasted me a good few months. I also like to top up my bubbles with something more affordable like Dove and at the moment Im using the Dove Supreme Fine Silk Beauty Bath which is on special offer from Superdrug for £1.35 for a massive 500ml bottle.

When I really need to chill out I add some Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax Bath Oil to help me relax and calm my mind. This is amazing - it contains a blend of pure essential oils which all help soothe you and is excellent to use before bedtime for a wonderful nights sleep. I purchased my bottle from Salon Skincare for £37.00 - again this is quite expensive but the quality is amazing and you get 20 baths out of a bottle so that works out at just under £2 a bath - Bargain !

The candle I have in my bathroom at the moment is the lovely Neom Organics Happiness Treatment candle which is infused with White Neroli, Mimosa and Lemon. I love this candle it really does smell like the spring. I have the travel sized candle which I received in my February Amarya Beauty Box but you can purchase these from Neom for £13.

To blog or not to blog ??

After a short break from blogging I find myself questioning if I should continue......

Im passionate about beauty and make up and more than anything want to forge myself a career in beauty or build my own business.

So I pose this question to my fellow beauty bloggers - to blog or not to blog ?

I would love to hear any advice you have - what kept you going ? How did you get people to read your blog? Have you had a difficult time and wondered whether or not blogging is really for you ?

Is it normal to feel like this a couple of months into blogging ?

Happy New Year

I hope that you all had an excellent time at Christmas and are looking forward to a happy 2012.

I wanted to share my resolutions for the new year with you all in the hope it might help me stick with them ! I think I might check back in February and see how its going !

1. I am going to focus on all the great things that I have im my life instead of the things that I dont.

2. I am going to make more time for family and friends.

3. I am going to continue working towards my dream of having my own Beauty Salon.

4. I am going to lose weight this year so I can feel more confident and happy in my own skin.

5. I AM going to use all my products up to the last drop before feeling the need to buy another!

 (The last one is because at this moment I seem to have seven different cleansers in my bathroom cabinet  - how does that happen ?!)

Have you made any resolutions for the new year?

I have lots of products that I will be reviewing over the next few weeks - one of my favourites is from the December Glossy box so keep your eyes peeled.
