Urban Decay Naked Basics

If you are a fan of neutral eyeshadow then this is the palette for you. The new Urban Decay Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette is the latest release in the "Naked" family. A dinky little palette which is great for travel and is much smaller than Naked or Naked2 is home to six generous full size eyeshadows raging from Venus a soft off white to Crave a deep dark brown. Ever since the release of the Naked Palettes everyone seems to have been waiting with baited breath to see if Urban Decay would answer our prayers and release a matte version of the Naked Palette and they have answered us with Naked Basics.
These eyeshadows are pretty amazing ! They are highly pigmented, true to pan with great colour pay off and are so smooth and silky to apply, my only gripe with the palette is that it features Foxy - a colour which has already featured in the Naked2 palette, other than that the colours are fab, you have Venus a demi-matte soft white which makes me think of candelight for some reason when I see it, Foxy a matte warm yellow/cream colour, Walk of Shame a matte pale pink beige, Naked2 a matte taupe colour, Faint a very light chocolate colour and Crave a matte dark brown/black. Overall Im really glad I purchased this - its a good addition to your collection even if you have both Naked palettes, I love the packaging and I love the quality of the product. You can purchase the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette in Debenhams for £20 plus p+p.

What do you guys think - Will you be adding the Naked Basics to your Christmas list?

Urban Decay Smoked 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil Set

Hi everyone
My obsession with Urban Decay continues and I recently purchased the Smoked set of six travel sized eyeliners to compliment my Smoked Palette. These eyeliners are highly pigmented with great colour pay off and they are really long wearing - on me they lasted all day without ending up half way down my face, they are also buildable so you can wear a subtle look for through the day or build up some colour for something more dramatic in the evening.
From left to right we have Uzi a browny/grey with sparkle, Zero a matte black, Demolition a matte dark brown, Smog a pearly bronze, Empire a dark purple and Mainline a dark teal colour. I think that this is a great little set which would make a fantastic Christmas present. You can purchase yours from BeautyBay.com for £26.00.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil Binge

My addiction to Urban Decay continues and this week Ive been reaching for Urban Decay's Eye Pencil in Binge. These pencils are amazingly soft and creamy to apply which makes them excellent for precision lining or creating more of a  smudged effect with your eyeliner. They are extremely pigmented and long lasting and you can even use them on your water line. Binge is a gorgeous dark blue with a silver hint to it and I think it brings something a little different to a day time or night time look. I think this would look fantastic with a dark smokey eye using Urban Decay's Gunmetal eyeshadow but today Ive chosen to wear a slightly more natural look.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Binge can be purchased from HQHair.com for £13.00 with free P+P.

Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil Stash

This gorgeous Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil Stash is a set of five colour coded, waterproof  pencils which can be used as eyeshadow pencils or eyeliner. These amazing "crayons" are creamy enough that they blend easily but not so creamy that you end up wiping half of it off  -  although they do set quickly so you have to be quick if you want to blend them. I love this set for creating a nice neutral eye with Juju (frosted taupe) or Sin (shimmering champagne) and also for creating something a bit more daring with Clash (bright turquoise w/silver sparkle) or Delinquent (dark purple w/bright purple sparkle).
This is a great little gift for Christmas and I purchased mine from Fragrance Direct for £11.99 - BARGAIN !!

Urban Decay Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush

The perfect partner for my Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation is this gorgeous synthetic optical blurring brush which helps me apply my foundation evenly and flawlessly.
Why spend money on a foundation brush ?? Well this brush will become your absolute best friend when you want to create a no foundation make up look, it will help buff and blend your makeup so you dont have streak marks or de-markation lines.  This brush has been developed especially for use with the Naked Skin foundation and helps smooth out your complexion. I love the finish I get when I use it and I do feel like it helps me create that flawless finish I have been trying to achieve. The brush is also fab to use with blushers and bronzers and would make a great addition to your makeup kit.

I purchased mine from HQhair.com for £18.50 with free P+P.

Urban Decay Smoked

As soon as I laid my eyes on the Smoked palette by Urban Decay I knew I had to have it.
A portable palette which has been designed to create the perfect smoky eye and includes ten shades ranging from the neutral Kinky and Freestyle to the jewel toned Rockstar, Evidence and Loaded, the Smoked palette also includes a black eyeliner in Perversion and a trial size of the newly packaged eye primer, which gets a massive thumbs up as I really didnt like the old style tube, in theory it looked fab but being practical I always thought I wasted a huge amount.
The eyeshadows in the Smoked palette are highly pigmented, creamy and easy to blend with very little fall out but that being said if you like more neutral shades I would probably stick to both of  the Naked palettes. Im a bit of a rock chick at heart and I do love a smoky eye but one of the things I like most about this palette is that you can create a traditional smoky eye or something a bit different. A easy to follow tutorial booklet is also included to help you make the most out of your palette. I re-created the iconic smoky eye with colour for you to have a look at.

Urban Decay Smoked can be purchased from Debenhams or House of Fraser for £35.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

Since I fell in love with the Naked Palettes I seem to be building up quite a collection of Urban Decay products, so when I was on the hunt for a new foundation Urban Decay seemed like the natural choice. Naked Skin by Urban Decay is quite a new kid on the block but what it lacks in maturity it more than makes up for in quality.
"Coverage without compromise" is the tagline for Urban Decay's latest offering in the foundation market and I have to say it is bloomin amazing !!
When applied with the Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush, Naked Skin gives wonderful coverage without being heavy, you can build up your coverage or keep it light for a fantastic luminous finish. This foundation uses special "light-diffusing spheres to "blur" imperfections" and is free from parabens which I think is another brilliant plus point. Naked Skin is also packed with green tea and vitamin E which help neutralize free radicals and promote collagen production for smooth and supple skin.
I have completely fallen in love with this foundation. It feels lovely on your skin and is so easy to apply, infact I once colour matched I would go as far as to say its pretty fool proof. Im not normally a foundation lover but as I get older I feel that I need a little more coverage and this is great because you can use as little or as much as you like - definitely worth a try.
Naked Skin foundation can be purchased from Debenhams or the House of Fraser for £27.

My First Review

Hi

Welcome to my very first review.

I have made a couple of purchases over the last few days which I will also be reviewing. One of the purchases being the highly praised Urban Decay Naked Palette - the palette had been sold out and recently came back into stock.
I really wanted to see what all the fuss was about as I have never been a fan of Urban Decay and this palette is my first purchase from them
The palette itself is quite striking and has a lovely velvety feel to the box and also comes with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion and eyeshadow brush.

There are 12 gorgeous colours in the palette , all with fantastic names:-
Virgin - Pearly cream
Sin - Pale pearly pink
Naked - Beigy taupe
Sidecar - Sparkly darker beige
Buck - Toffee colour
Half Baked - Goldy bronze
Smog - Bronzy, brown
Darkhorse - Grey, Brown
Toasted - Pinky, brown
Hustle - A lighter grey, brown
Creep - Sparkly dark grey
Gunmetal - Sparkly grey/blue
Colours shown from left to right - virgin, sin, naked, sidecar, buck, half baked, smog, darkhorse, toasted, hustle, creep and gun metal.
I am very impressed with the range of colours in the palette and the pigments are just fantastic - on my first application I applied the primer potion all over my eyelid and then applied Virgin all over. I applied sin all over my lower lid and used sidecar over the crease. I used dark horse to line my lower lashes. The shadows were a joy to apply , they feel so soft and creamy and this is actually the first time I have visited the ladies at lunch time and not had to re-apply my eyeshadow. What on earth was I using before !?!
I love this palette and hope that this is a permanent fixture in the Urban Decay line - the colours are wearable, its not one of these palettes where you find that there are one or two colours you could give a wide berth to.

Where have you been all my life Urban Decay ?
I would highly recommend this palette to anyone who asks - this is definately worth parting with £35. A staple for every girls make up arsenal !

With Love
