Mac Plumful Lipstick Fridays

Hi everyone

What a super quick week its been !!
Can you actually believe that we are half way through January already !! I haven't even got my 2012 favourites post up yet ! ah !! Anyway Lipstick Fridays resumes its usual spot this week and if you are new to Lipstick Fridays it all started around this time last year and it was basically my pledge to make sure I wear all my lipsticks, as the months have went by it seems to have become a cool way to share different lipstick reviews and swatches with you all.
In the hot seat today is Mac's Plumful, a medium cool pink with plum undertones. Ive actually been wearing this all week and absolutely love it ! Plumful is a lustre finish, which means they can usually be quite sheer but Plumful has fabulous pigmentation and great colour pay off. Regular readers of my blog will know that I'm a sucker for Mac lipsticks because I love the yummy vanilla smell and the way they feel when applied. I feel that Plumful would suit any skin tone and I get around four to five hours wear, plus when its wearing off my lips feel really moisturised. Plumful would make a fantastic addition to your lipstick collection and would be great for anyone looking for a slightly stronger colour who doesn't want to wear red.
Mac Plumful can be purchased from Mac for £14.00.

What is your favourite Mac lipstick ?? Does anyone have any recommendations  xx

Mac Glamourdaze Lipstick Friday

Hi everyone

Hope you are all well - thank goodness its Friday !!

Ive had one of those weeks where everything that can go wrong seems to have gone wrong !! One of those weeks where I have been completely forgetful - I drove an hour to the shops to return an item only to find I had left my wallet at home ! Ooops !! Anyway enough of my woes - Positive thinking is the way forward ha ha !!
Today Im wearing the gorgeous Glamourdaze lipstick by Mac - described as a mid tone creamy plum I would say its quite got quite a cool tint to it, I dont think I would go a far as to say its a mid tone plum but when applied to my lips I would probably describe is a very light plum/dark rose colour. Glamourdaze can still be purchased from Mac online for £14.

Lipstick Friday - Mac Please Me

Yes Lipstick Friday is back and this week I am wearing the gorgeous Mac lipstick in Please Me.
I will keep this post brief as Im sure most of you know the virtues of Mac, for those of you who dont you must get some Mac on your chrimbo wishlist. The lipsticks are amazing, with great lasting power, great formulations and great pigmentation. I find that Please Me does have a little bit of a sheen so would decribe it as a semi matte, with a slightly yellow undertone. I have a fair to medium complexion and find this suits me perfectly.
Mac Please Me can be purchased from Mac for £14.00.
What lipstick are you wearing this Friday?

Mac - Cut a Caper

Hi everyone

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
I actually meant to put this post up on Friday but forgot to publish it - ooops !! This week Ive been wearing Mac Cut a Caper which is a fantastic partner for my Nars Ramatuelle eyeshadow. Cut a Caper is a lustre lipstick in a gorgeous peachy, coral shade which leaves a fantastic glossy shine on your lips. I would say this is quite a soft, gentle coral which is easy to wear and would suit most skin tones. Cut A Caper does take a few swipes to build up the colour and does seem to cling to any drier areas on your lips but I dont mind because Im totally in love with this colour !!! This is currently sold out on the Mac website but you could always check out Ebay or Mac counters as they may still have some in stock.

Nail of the day

Today Im wearing Play Day which is from the Mac Vera collection.
This nail polish is now no longer available on the Mac website however you may still be able to find it on Mac Counters or good old Ebay.
This is described as a pale milky coral colour - I find it more peachy than coral. I have to say that although I love the colour I aint loving the formula - I found that it was streaky when applied and I had to apply three coats just to get it to look kind of even and not so opaque.

Loreal Lumi Magique Highlighting Pen

Im probably a bit late to the party with this one but I am enjoying using it so much I had to write a review. The  L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter Pen is very similar to the hugely successful YSL Touche Eclat - to be honest I dont know why I bought this as I was never a huge fan of the Touche Eclat but I was so impressed with the Lumi Magique Primer that I had tried from Loreal that I decided I had to give this a go.
The product is available in three shades - light, medium and dark. To dispense the product you turn the base of the pen which distributes the product into the brush at the top - this brush is perfect for precision application.

I purchased the light shade which has pinky undertones to it which will help disguise dark shadows under your eye area. The product is quite thick and when applied it has a very slight shimmer to it which I havent been able to pick up in the photos.

Loreal Lumi Magique helped disguise my under eye shadows without creasing or settling in to my wrinkles and lasted for around seven hours - you could also use this to add a subtle highlight to your cheek bones. This is a fab multi purpose highlighting product and definitely worth a try.

Lipstick Fridays Mac Ruby Woo

As I am wearing Shellac I have decided to do a Friday Night Lipstick feature this week.
I have been feeling really inspired by brighter colours the last few weeks and this evening I have decided to give my new Mac Ruby Woo lipstick its first outing. This is a matte cool toned red lipstick - the packaging is chic, the formulation is fantastic and pigmentation is amazing. This lipstick is definitely not one for the faint hearted.
I wasnt feeling quite brave enough to wear it on its own so I decided to add a splash of Clarins Gloss Prodige in Grenadine.

Mac Ruby Woo can be purchased from Mac online for £13.50 and Clarins Gloss Prodige can be purchased from Escentual.com for a special price of £12.40.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Lipstick Fridays Mac Hue

I have to say - Ive been a bit crap at keeping up with my blog posts lately!
Ive been job hunting so my spare time seems to have been dominated by filling in applications etc.
Thats why Im also a bit late with Lipstick Fridays today - Ive been out of town at a job interview - keep your fingers crossed for me. My second excuse is my computer is on the blink and my laptop is just absolutely useless so it does get rather easy to put off trying to get the cogs
inside it to work ha ha.
Anyway excuses aside - what did I think the perfect colour was to wear to my interview ?
Mac Hue.
This has been my very favourite lipstick for a while now and a recent repurchase.
Hue is described as a soft pale pink and when applied to the lips is a really pale, pinky nude colour. Its really creamy and contains a subtle shimmer - another lipstick that would would look really great if you were going for dark smokey eyes and paler lips. Swatched on my hand Hue is almost a salmon pink though very pale.
Mac is one of my favourite brands right now and the lipsticks are just amazing - they are very wearable, not sticky at all and smell amazing !
Mac Hue can be purchased from Mac online.

Lipstick Fridays-Mac Viva Glam II

Hello everyone

What a beautiful sunny week its been, I hope you've all been wearing your sun factor.
Today Im wearing a lipstick which my lovely hubbie bought me for Christmas - Mac's Satin lipstick in Viva Glam II.
I must admit I haven't worn this that much but Im really loving this colour today - this is decribed as a muted pink-beige with shimmer. I really love this colour - its a little different to the rosey pinks I usually tend to stick to and the shimmer in it is quite golden so Im thinking it would look great with a tan. On my lips it looks like quite a warm peachy pink which isnt really what it looks like in the tube or on my hand. In my mind though Mac can do no wrong - it did take a few swipes to build up some colour but I just completely love Mac lipsticks - they feel fantastic on your lips and I really love the vanilla fragrance. Mac Viva Glam II lipstick can be purchased from the Mac website for £13.50.

Whats your favourite Mac Lipstick ?

I seem to have gone mental for Mac !!
I really have to build up my Mac collection - but I think I went a bit mad with the Glitter and Ice collection.
Ive tried to do some swatches but the light isnt that great today so I'll try again tomorrow.
Here is everything I got:-

3 Paint Pots - Lets Skate, Morning Frost, For Effect
1 Mineralize Eye Shadow in Winterized
Make It Perfect brush kit

Ruby, Ruby, Ruby - aaaahhhhhh !

Hi Lovelies

Thank you to the Selfridges delivery man - I just received my Mac Mineralize eyeshadow in Smoked Ruby. Can I just say that if you havent ordered anything from Selfridges before and are thinking about doing so now then expect your delivery in a bright yellow jiffy bag with lovely Christmas paper and a little happy Christmas sticker - Is it really that time already?
This is gorgeous, tts a lovely blackened red colour and it just looks stunning.
The pigmentation in the Mac Eyeshadow is amazeballs ! ! I cant wait to try it out maybe for a nice Christmas night out . As you will see by my previous post I havent been into Mac before but I am quickly becoming addicted.
Anyway here is a sneaky peek of Smoked Ruby in all its glory.

Mac Haul & Review

On a recent shopping trip I decided to invest in some new make up.
I was browsing round the make up counters and over the crowded store I seen it in the distance ....Mac. I made my way over and was virtually hypnotised by the overly helpful sales girl - do these guys work on commission ? I swear I would have bankrupted myself had I not come to my senses before reaching for my wallet !
This is the first time I have purchased any Mac make up - why was I hesitant to purchase from them before ? Im not sure - its not that I havent used expensive make up in the past - but surprisingly I found that although Mac is a little more pricey than the high street brands its not so expensive that you feel that you cant afford it. This little experiment was to see if it would be worth investing in a Mac Pro card - I am a budding make up artist and have been justifying my cosmetic splurges over the last few months by telling myself I was "testing" out the products to use in my kit ?!
Dont believe me ?!
No neither do I - turns out I love these so much I dont think I can part with them !
Anyway here is my haul:-

1 paint pot in Painterly, 3 fluid liners in Avenue, Dark Diversion & Dark Envy, 1 mineralize skin finish in Semi Precious Rose Quartz, 1 cream colour base in Hush, 2 Lipsticks in Secret Lover and Creme D'Nude and 1 packet of cleansing wipes.

Painterly Paint Pot -  a gorgeous nude beige
The thing that impressed me most about the paint pot is it is really highly pigmented. Painterly goes on like a cream highshadow but doesnt crease and end up half way down your face like other cream shadows Ive tried. I used Painterly as a base to create different looks and it helped my make up stay put - I didnt have to retouch my make up once all day !! It is also great just to use all over the eye area then you could just line your eyes with your fluidline or any other liner. I will definately be purchasing these in different colours.

Fluid lines in Dark Envy decribed as a blackened green , Dark Diverson described as a darkened plum and Avenue which is decribed as charcoal black with gold pearl although I think it looks more brown with gold pearl.

Easy to apply and longwearing and smudge proof - I use a Sigma E65 brush to apply a line along my top lashes - really like the pigments in the fluidlines and they are really easy to apply , you can also use them to tightline and along your own fluidline different looks.

Cream Colour Base In Hush and Mineralize skin finish in Semi Precious Rose Quartz

The cream colour base is fragrance free and you can use it on bare skin or over foundation, moisturizer or powder and it can be applied with your fingers, sponge or brush and you can change the effect you get with the way you apply it. I am not as impressed with the cream colour base as I am with the mineralize skin finish - I am glad that I managed to get this as it was a limited edition. You can use it to highlight or all over for a nice sheen.

Secret Lover Nude Beige & Creme d' Nude Pale muted peach beige

I tried to swatch these but they are really pale so didnt really come up - the thing I like most about these lipsticks are the lovely vanilla smell they seem to have  - I think they would suit any skin tone, these are so creamy and smooth when you apply them and they arent sticky which is a pet hate I have with lipsticks and lipglosses. This seemed to last a while but I love lippy which smells good so I feel like I always end up applying it more than I need to !

The final part of my haul was the mac wipes - love these !
These remove make up really easily and you can also use them to correct any make up mistakes. They have a nice fresh smell and it says on the website they are infused with vitamin E which will hydrate and nourish.

I am really impressed with all my purchases - except maybe the cream colour base. I might need to keep persisting with this one to get the kind of look Im aiming for. My haul has got me addicted - I think every girl should have a few Mac staples in her make up kit.

Whats you favourites ?
Let me know x x x
