Purple Rockstar Nails

Hi everyone

I hope that you are all having a fantastic weekend.
This weekend I am wearing purple Shellac Rockstar Nails.
Rockstar is a technique which involves curing powdered glitter into the Shellac and the effects are simply stunning.
Most salons or nail bars will probably be able to do these for you, Ive also seen them being done at Nails Inc. Depending on where you get them done they could probably set you back upwards of £25 for the set. Im pretty lucky that I offer Shellac as a treatment so was able to do these myself and I intend to spend most of the day staring at them ha ha. They look so pretty and sparkly I cant take my eyes off them.

Shellac Wildfire

So for the last week Ive been wearing Shellac Wildfire on my nails. It has grown out quite a bit and its looking a little rough around the edges so I thought I would take this chance to swatch it before removal - my nails seem to have been growing really quickly just now so I wont get two weeks wear out of these. This is such a gorgeous pillar box red colour which great for nights out or if you want to make a statement with a bold colour.

Shellac Tropix

With the arrival of the sunny weather my love for neutral nails seems to have gone out the window !
At the moment I am wearing Shellac Tropix on my finger nails & toe nails - this is gorgeous bright coral shade which is just perfect for the summer.
If you havent tried Shellac this is a fantastic power polish which dries immediately when cured under a UV lamp. Shellac will last up to two weeks so its great if you love having your nails painted but cant be bothered messing around painting your nails or waiting for your polish to dry. This is my Shellac Tropix after over one a half weeks wear - its still looking pretty good although it has grown out a bit - isnt it mad how quickly your nails seem to grow when the sun is out ??

Friday Night Nails Shellac French

So if you read my Lipstick Fridays post today, you will know that I have been to a job interview.
Wildly coloured nails were out so I had to remove my Shellac Gotcha ! Boo !!
Anyway I always find that when you have something really important on no matter what you always seem to chip a nail so I replaced Gotcha with a subtle french manicure using Shellac Romantique and Shellac Studio White so no glitter nails tonight for me. I feel quite grown up ha ha !

Have a fab weekend everyone.

Friday Night Nails Shellac Gotcha

What to do with a Friday night at home ?!
Well ....
My nails have been a bit of a mess lately so tonight I decided to Shellac my nails.
Ive been growing really fond of brighter colours these days so I decided to go for Shellac Gotcha.
Shellac is a hybrid polish - a power polish rather than a gel. Shellac will last up to two weeks if you carry out the correct after care at home. The finished article - flawless, shiny, glossy nails.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Im a Rockstar !!!! Shellac Rockstar

I was a little bored today so what did I decide to do ?
I experimented with Shellac Rockstar Nails.
This is basically glitter cured into your Shellac Manicure and you can really achieve some outstanding results.
These colours obviously dont go together but I was too impatient to see what they looked like so I just used one on each finger.
What do you guys think ?
This is my first attempt at these so please be kind.
My favourite is the purple although the holographic rockstar is pretty stunning too.

Shellac

I love Shellac.

Ive been doing Shellac as a treatment now since August and I must say its fantastic.
One of the most important things about Shellac is the aftercare that you carry out at home.
Aftercare is really important to get the most out of your treatment and extend the life of your manicure.
When you are wearing Shellac you should introduce yourself to CND Solar Oil - you can usually purchase this where you have your Shellac nails done.
The one thing I will say is that it does annoy me when you have a treatment at a Salon and you think they are trying to sell you everything in sight but when it comes to Shellac, Solar Oil will be your new best friend, you should use it twice a day to help keep your Shellac in tip top condition.

Creative Nail Design SolarOil Cuticle Oil

Shellac will last around 14 days and is pretty indestructible with normal wear and tear, which means you have to add a little protection to your nails if doing tough jobs like household cleaning and gardening and hobbies which might be rough on your hands.
Something you have to watch for with Shellac is if you are on holiday you have to be careful when using sun tan oils or insect repellent solutions -  many of these products contain solvent oils which will cause major damage to the Shellac colour coat. Some of the more delicate Shellac colours can fade somewhat if your hands are in chlorinated water followed by excessive sun (remember that chlorine is a bleach and sun  intensifies the bleaching action). Dry your hands and nails after swimming and before sunbathing to minimize any colour fading. Shellac is designed to be applied to healthy natural nails so if you are usually a fan of acrylic or gel nails then its probably advisable to wait a couple of weeks after you have your false nails removed till you have Shellac applied to your own nails otherwise you may find the Shellac peels off.
I did my own Shellac on Saturday and its a lovely little cocktail of Strawberry Smoothie and Zillionaire - its really subtle but really pretty. I also wanted to keep it quite light as my nails are really short just now. The other great thing about Shellac is you can paint over it - so if you went for a nice neutral mani then you could use your usual polish over it at the weekend - just make sure you use an acetone free remover to take off the nail polish or you could end up removing your Shellac.

I achieved this look with two coats of Strawberry Smoothie all over the nail and then two coats of Zillionaire all over the nail. The pictures dont really do this justice - Zillionaire gives the pink a lovely sparkley sheen  and makes your nails twinkle.
