Friday Night Nails Shellac French

So if you read my Lipstick Fridays post today, you will know that I have been to a job interview.
Wildly coloured nails were out so I had to remove my Shellac Gotcha ! Boo !!
Anyway I always find that when you have something really important on no matter what you always seem to chip a nail so I replaced Gotcha with a subtle french manicure using Shellac Romantique and Shellac Studio White so no glitter nails tonight for me. I feel quite grown up ha ha !

Have a fab weekend everyone.

Friday Night Nails Shellac Gotcha

What to do with a Friday night at home ?!
Well ....
My nails have been a bit of a mess lately so tonight I decided to Shellac my nails.
Ive been growing really fond of brighter colours these days so I decided to go for Shellac Gotcha.
Shellac is a hybrid polish - a power polish rather than a gel. Shellac will last up to two weeks if you carry out the correct after care at home. The finished article - flawless, shiny, glossy nails.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Friday Night Nails

I wanted something to match the Candy lipstick Im wearing today so tonights nails are a bit of a twist on the rockstar theme. I call them Candy Twinkles.
I achieved this look using two coats of Opi's Elephantastic pink, just a sprinkling of pink glitter ( this is only meant to add a twinkle to the nail rather than full coverage like the rockstars.) Finished off with two coats of Seche Vite topcoat.

 Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Friday Night Nails Pink Friday

As a rule Im not a huge fan of creamy pink nail polish, I feel like there is something about the pigment in them that never gives you a wonderful smooth glossy finish. I recently purchased OPI's Pink Friday to add to my professional manicure kit and tonight I thought, well as its there I might as well give it a go. I love OPI nail polish - the size of the brush is perfect, the consistency of the polish is fantastic, it dries quickly and you always achieve a lovely glossy finish.
Pink Friday is a beautiful creamy candy pink colour but I cant say that it was a dream to apply. The first coat was quite streaky and although the second coat improved things slightly, up close I dont get the perfect finish I normally achieve when painting my nails, however that said I usually find that with creamy pinks. That said though I think its a lovely colour for brightening your mood during this horrible weather and although Im not usually a fan of this type of colour I think this one
 could convert me!

What do you guys think?
Have you jumped on the Pink Friday band wagon yet ?

Friday Night Nails Branwens Feather

Hi Lovelies
Sorry to bombard you all with blog posts this evening !
Tonight Im wearing the fantastic Butter London polish in Branwens Feather. This stunning polish is quick to dry, has an excellent consistency, and it flows easily across the nails allowing for precise application. The one thing I will say though is that I do find the brush slightly small but then I think I have big nails - ha ! At first glance this polish looks black but as it catches the light you can see that its a very deep purple/magenta hue to it with rainbow micro-glitter particles.
I achieved this finish with three coats and I have to say it does remind me slightly of Zoya's Jem only maybe a little darker - what do you guys think ? Butter London Branwen's Feather can be purchased from Butter London for £12.

Have a lovely weekend.

Friday Night Nails Zoya Jana

Hi everyone

I am having a rather subdued Easter weekend so thought I would go for a nice subtle colour this evening. Tonight I am wearing Zoya Jana which is desribed as putty coloured nail polish with mauve and purple undertones. I love Zoya nail polish and you can achieve a perfect finish in two coats. This dried quickly and gives a beautiful shiny finish. Zoya Jana can be purchased from LaLaLondon for £9.99. I think that Zoya do a fantastic range of nail polish in beautiful colours - Ive got my eye on Marina and Adina so keep your eyes peeled for some swatches of those in the coming weeks.
What are your favourite colours at the moment ?

Friday Night Nails-The Hunger Games

Hi everyone

Last weekend I purchased two polishes from the China Glaze Hunger Games Collection - Dress Me Up and Fast Track. Ive been dying to try them out all week but since Im going to see the film tonight I thought there is no better place to give them an outing. China Glaze nail polish has a great consistency and is easy to apply, I find that it dries quickly and I get a good couple of days wear out of them before I experience any chipping.  My only regret is not buying the rest of the collection because the the colours are stunning - you can purchase The Hunger Games collection from Nail Polish Direct for £5.95 so I think Im off to buy some more.

Two coats of Dress Me Up

I used Fast Track as a top coat but to be honest I think it looks prettier on its own.

Have any of you seen The Hunger Games yet ?
Really excited.

Well have a lovely weekend everyone.

Friday night nails

Tonight Im wearing a nail polish from the Color Club collection
called Red Velvet. This is a black nail polish laced with very fine flecks of red glitter. This polish has quite a thin consistency so was relatively easy to apply but because its so thin you do have to be careful not to flood your cuticles. I also found that the pigmentation of the black polish wasnt great - I needed three coats to build up the colour - there was no way you could get away with two coats as the second coat was still quite streaky and my natural nail was still showing through the polish.
BUT !
Once I had three coats on I have to say the effect is absolutely gorgeous.

If you would like to buy your own Color Club nail polish in Red Velvet - I bought mine on ebay from an Amercan seller for around £4.40 including postage.

I have popped the link below.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Friday night nails

Tonight I am wearing two colours by China Glaze -
Blue Years Eve which is a vibrant royal sparkly blue with a deep magenta hue to it and Snow Globe which is an irridescent glitter polish with small and large flecks of glitter.
China Glaze is pretty new to me but I have to say that Im really impressed with the consistency, pigmentation of colour and ease of application, not to mention that the polish dries in super quick time.
This is two coats of Blue Years Eve and two coats of Snow Globe - to get this finish I lightly dabbed on the first coat of Snow Globe then brushed on the second.

I am really loving this and I have to say the camera really doesnt do this justice.
Blue Years Eve and Snow Globe can be purchased from Nail Polish Direct for £5.95.

Friday night nails

So its back to the OPI Designer Series for this weeks Friday night nails. Im wearing the gorgeous Bold which is a ruby red polish laced with silver glitter. This is quite festive looking but I cant help thinking of Dorothy's ruby slippers from the Wizard Of Oz when I see it - its just so pretty. This is three coats and to get the best coverage with glitter polish I paint on the first coat, lightly dab on the second, then paint on the third. I find this distributes the glitter more evenly on the nail and you get a better end result with a nice neat finish.

In the UK the OPI Designer Series nail polish can be purchased from Lena White for £16.75 or you can check ebay for more competitive prices.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Friday Night Nails

On my nails tonight are two colours by OPI for Sephora.
What else would I wear to go with my red lippy today but glamourous gold super sparkly nails.
I am wearing two coats of Looks Like Rain, Dear which is a beautfiul gold nail polish with flecks of holographic glitter in it, then one coat of Only Gold For Me which is another gold glitter polish but the flecks of
glitter are much larger.
The polish was easy to apply and dried quickly as you would expect from OPI nail polish. I really cant say a bad word about it - I use it when Im doing nails professionally and find that it gives me the best finish. Im really loving this, the camera really doesnt do it justice. I bought my nail polish from Ebay for around £8.
