Guest Post by Rachael Sage

My name is Rachael Sage and I'm a singer-songwriter and touring artist, as well as an actress. I recently released my brand new album, "Haunted By You", and am so excited to be going on tour for most of the summer! As a performer, I love wearing bright, bold colors on stage and that carries through to my makeup...and especially to my bright red lipstick.

Before a big tour I always make sure I have makeup that will inspire me and coordinate well with my wardrobe. Right now my hair is magenta and my favorite colors are purple and blue, but my signature is always to wear a bold, red lip even if the shade varies. My current favorite is CoverGirl LipPerfection in a shade called "Tempt"; it really stays on a long time, but without drying out my lips which is important when you have as many lyrics as I do - I need my lips to always feel hydrated and smooth or you can actually get "stuck" trying to articulate your lyrics!

Recently I appeared in a multi-media show at Lincoln Center in NYC, where I not only had to perform my music, but also act. The show was about my romantic relationship to a chef, so it was part of the action for me to eat and drink during some of the scenes; I didn't want to leave lipstick-marks on my glass or on the other utensils when I ate though - because that just doesn't look very nice to an audience.

For those particular shows, I decided to try a long-lasting lip color - Wet 'N Wild Mega Last in "Red Velvet" - and I was very happy with it for performance. It did feel slightly more drying than some other regular lipsticks, but it stayed completely on my lips, where it was supposed to ...even while I was eating and drinking through a two hour play. It's great to know that if I really need a long-wearing lip color, I have one in my arsenal now - like having a second guitar or being able to do a different accent; as a performing artist and in terms of my personal style, I'm all about range, and never being afraid to change things up a little!

Shellac Tropix

With the arrival of the sunny weather my love for neutral nails seems to have gone out the window !
At the moment I am wearing Shellac Tropix on my finger nails & toe nails - this is gorgeous bright coral shade which is just perfect for the summer.
If you havent tried Shellac this is a fantastic power polish which dries immediately when cured under a UV lamp. Shellac will last up to two weeks so its great if you love having your nails painted but cant be bothered messing around painting your nails or waiting for your polish to dry. This is my Shellac Tropix after over one a half weeks wear - its still looking pretty good although it has grown out a bit - isnt it mad how quickly your nails seem to grow when the sun is out ??

Guest Post - The Beautiful Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Tired of unwanted hair in your underarms, legs, thighs and face? Want to have flawlessly hairless skin? Then laser hair removal is the answer to your problems. Nowadays, with the advancement of technology, it is not that hard to achieve beauty. You may think that laser hair removal treatments are a bit pricey, but why risk your skin to nicks, cuts and sagging when you can have an easier and more effective choice?

Most people are sceptical to undergo laser hair removal treatments simply because they know little about it. What they do not know is that it offers a lot of benefits and advantages over the traditional shaving and waxing procedures.

First, it is more effective since lasers can be directed to target areas with dark and coarse hairs, without affecting the skin around the area. Second, it is very fast, easy and painless. An upper lip hair removal treatment can take as fast as two minutes to finish, while larger areas like the legs and thighs can only take an hour. Lastly, laser hair removal has long-lasting effects, and most of the time, can result to permanent hair loss. It may cost a bit high, but it is still cost effective compared to waxing which does not fully eliminate unwanted hair.

When opting to undergo treatment, it is best to choose a duly-accredited and certified laser clinic to ensure that they are one of the best in what they do. Ask questions in order to know everything you need before the treatment. You will find that laser hair removal is way better than plucking your hair one by one, or enduring the pain of waxing. It is safer, cleaner, and easier, plus the added benefit of being more confident that no unwanted hair will come popping out anytime soon.

Im back

Hi lovelies

I hope you are all doing well.
Apologies for my absence over the last few weeks - Ive had a few personal problems to sort out but I think things are back on track now.
I recently tried out some self tan by Vita Liberata which has given me the most natural colour I have ever achieved from a bottle so I have a review on that coming up - definitely worth a try.
My love for neutral nails seems to have disappeared with the sun !
I have a fab colour from the Shellac range on my fingers and toes which is just great for summer so keep an eye out for some swatches of that. Been trying out some Neom bath oil,Tom Ford Polish and Dior lippy - cant wait to tell you all about them xxx

Anyway hope you are all enjoying the lovely weather.

Friday Night Nails Shellac French

So if you read my Lipstick Fridays post today, you will know that I have been to a job interview.
Wildly coloured nails were out so I had to remove my Shellac Gotcha ! Boo !!
Anyway I always find that when you have something really important on no matter what you always seem to chip a nail so I replaced Gotcha with a subtle french manicure using Shellac Romantique and Shellac Studio White so no glitter nails tonight for me. I feel quite grown up ha ha !

Have a fab weekend everyone.

Lipstick Fridays Mac Hue

I have to say - Ive been a bit crap at keeping up with my blog posts lately!
Ive been job hunting so my spare time seems to have been dominated by filling in applications etc.
Thats why Im also a bit late with Lipstick Fridays today - Ive been out of town at a job interview - keep your fingers crossed for me. My second excuse is my computer is on the blink and my laptop is just absolutely useless so it does get rather easy to put off trying to get the cogs
inside it to work ha ha.
Anyway excuses aside - what did I think the perfect colour was to wear to my interview ?
Mac Hue.
This has been my very favourite lipstick for a while now and a recent repurchase.
Hue is described as a soft pale pink and when applied to the lips is a really pale, pinky nude colour. Its really creamy and contains a subtle shimmer - another lipstick that would would look really great if you were going for dark smokey eyes and paler lips. Swatched on my hand Hue is almost a salmon pink though very pale.
Mac is one of my favourite brands right now and the lipsticks are just amazing - they are very wearable, not sticky at all and smell amazing !
Mac Hue can be purchased from Mac online.

Friday Night Nails Shellac Gotcha

What to do with a Friday night at home ?!
Well ....
My nails have been a bit of a mess lately so tonight I decided to Shellac my nails.
Ive been growing really fond of brighter colours these days so I decided to go for Shellac Gotcha.
Shellac is a hybrid polish - a power polish rather than a gel. Shellac will last up to two weeks if you carry out the correct after care at home. The finished article - flawless, shiny, glossy nails.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Lipstick Fridays Tom Ford Indian Rose

Hi everyone

I hope that you have all had a good week.
Today Im wearing the beautiful Indian Rose by Tom Ford. Indian Rose is a gorgeous, cool toned, natural, pink with a hint of microshimmer. This is my second Tom Ford lipcolour and I am not disappointed. This lipstick is highly pigmented and amazing to wear - it feels wonderfully moisturising on your lips and glides on smoothly. The formula is really creamy and it has a gorgeous vanilla scent to it, one of the things that impressed me the most about this lipstick is the wear - it will last for hours on your lips - the only drawback is the price tag. You can purchase this from Selfridges for £36 which is quite a price for a lipstick but the quality is amazing - maybe its one for the Birthday or Christmas wish list.

OPI Red

I dont think there is anything better than a splash of red nail polish on your toes to brighten up your week.
First of all please excuse my horrible freshly spray tanned feet but I just love this nail polish with a tan.
This is the gorgeous OPI Red.

As much as I am loving this beautiful red this has started me on a bit of a hunt for the perfect red nail polish.
Im trying to get my grubby little paws on a bottle of Clarins Glossy Nail Colour in Red 05.
I cant seem to find it anywhere !!
I know Clarins have pretty much discontinued their nail polish collection now but Im hoping that I might be able to hunt one down ! Anyone ? X

Clarins Glossy Nail Colour

This just looks like the perfect red nail polish.

Whats your most perfect red nail polish ?
