MeMeMe Goddess Rocks

Hi Lovelies

I have wanted to try MeMeMe Cosmetics for a while and because I love anything which will make me look a bit more bronzed and healthy and give me a luminous glow I decided to try Goddess Rocks. I seem to be hooked on buying blushers, bronzers and illuminators right now ! Do you ever find you go through stages like that ?

Goddess Rocks (love the name) are luxury bronzing rocks which help you give a gorgeous sun-kissed glow.

My initial thoughts were - I loved the packaging but Im bad for just chucking things into my handbag and I dont think the tub would with stand too much of that but thats no problem cos they look great on my dressing table and to be honest I should really be using a makeup bag anyway instead of just throwing things into my handbag !

They also come packed with a little sponge in the top to keep the little gold and bronze rocks from breaking up in transit.

The product itself is beautiful - little bronze and gold rocks which deliver that glow and luminoucity without it looking overly glittery looking - now I do love a bit of glitter but sometimes you are just looking for something a bit more natural.

Take your blusher/bronzer brush and swirl it around in the tub then sweep over your cheek bones and decollete to add a beautiful glow to your skin. You can also use the individual rocks as eye shadow or on your lips with your lipgloss.

You can go for a more natural glow

Or you can build up the colour

Im really impressed with the quality of this product and it will definately encourage me to try other products from the range  - they give you a gorgeous sunkissed glow, have multiple uses and would fab for the holiday season to enhance your tan. You can purchase Goddess Rocks from Me Me Me cosmetics online for £12.50.

Has anyone else tried MeMeMe Cosmetics ?
I would be interested to hear what your favourite products are.

Friday Night Nails-The Hunger Games

Hi everyone

Last weekend I purchased two polishes from the China Glaze Hunger Games Collection - Dress Me Up and Fast Track. Ive been dying to try them out all week but since Im going to see the film tonight I thought there is no better place to give them an outing. China Glaze nail polish has a great consistency and is easy to apply, I find that it dries quickly and I get a good couple of days wear out of them before I experience any chipping.  My only regret is not buying the rest of the collection because the the colours are stunning - you can purchase The Hunger Games collection from Nail Polish Direct for £5.95 so I think Im off to buy some more.

Two coats of Dress Me Up

I used Fast Track as a top coat but to be honest I think it looks prettier on its own.

Have any of you seen The Hunger Games yet ?
Really excited.

Well have a lovely weekend everyone.

Lipstick Fridays-Mac Viva Glam II

Hello everyone

What a beautiful sunny week its been, I hope you've all been wearing your sun factor.
Today Im wearing a lipstick which my lovely hubbie bought me for Christmas - Mac's Satin lipstick in Viva Glam II.
I must admit I haven't worn this that much but Im really loving this colour today - this is decribed as a muted pink-beige with shimmer. I really love this colour - its a little different to the rosey pinks I usually tend to stick to and the shimmer in it is quite golden so Im thinking it would look great with a tan. On my lips it looks like quite a warm peachy pink which isnt really what it looks like in the tube or on my hand. In my mind though Mac can do no wrong - it did take a few swipes to build up some colour but I just completely love Mac lipsticks - they feel fantastic on your lips and I really love the vanilla fragrance. Mac Viva Glam II lipstick can be purchased from the Mac website for £13.50.

Whats your favourite Mac Lipstick ?

Weekend Haul

Hi everyone

I hope you are all well and that the sun is shining where you are.
We are getting the most amazing sunshine here in Scotland so Ive been trying to make the most of it whilst I can.
I was at the Scottish Beauty Show on Sunday and I have a little haul I wanted to share with you all.
I will be reviewing these items over the next few weeks but couldnt wait to show you all what I purchased - some of the items are for professional use and some of them are just for me. Yay.

The big silver case in the back ground is for some of my pro kit.
I also purchased two of the new Shellac colours in Rubble and Cityscape, two of the new China Glaze polishes from the Hunger Games collection in Dress Me Up and Fast Track, a Konad nail art stamping kit, Dream Weave mascara, Vita Liberta tanning lotion, a Christian Eyebrow palette, five Opi polishes in Gouda Gouda Two Shoes, Bring On The Bling, Pedal Faster Suzi, I Juggle Men and Princesses Rule, three Orli massage candles and an eyebrow palette for myself which I havent pictured.

Cant wait to show you everything in more detail but for now Im off out to enjoy whats left of the sun - after all it'll probably end up snowing tomorrow ha ha xx

Friday night nails

Tonight Im wearing a nail polish from the Color Club collection
called Red Velvet. This is a black nail polish laced with very fine flecks of red glitter. This polish has quite a thin consistency so was relatively easy to apply but because its so thin you do have to be careful not to flood your cuticles. I also found that the pigmentation of the black polish wasnt great - I needed three coats to build up the colour - there was no way you could get away with two coats as the second coat was still quite streaky and my natural nail was still showing through the polish.
BUT !
Once I had three coats on I have to say the effect is absolutely gorgeous.

If you would like to buy your own Color Club nail polish in Red Velvet - I bought mine on ebay from an Amercan seller for around £4.40 including postage.

I have popped the link below.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Lipstick Fridays

Hi everyone

Im sticking with Clarins for this weeks Lipstick Fridays.
Today Im wearing the gorgeous Joli Rouge lipstick in Petal Pink (707).

This lipstick feels amazing on my lips - they have been quite dry for some reason but I feel this lipstick is injecting them with moisture. Joli Rouge contains Mango Butter which helps to repair your lips and protect them against dehydration so its giving your lips a little treatment whilst delivering fabulous colour and shine. This lipstick is wonderful to wear but because of the glossy finish I do have to apply it a little more often than a matte. This is a cool toned pink with a fantastic fruity fragrance and lovely smooth texture. It feels very creamy when applied - it did take quite a few swipes to build up some colour but I think this would be gorgeous with soft lilac eye make up for Spring.

Ive had this lipstick for a while but I found Clarins Joli Rouge lippys on Escentual.com for a special price of £13.20.

Have a fantastic Friday.

Clarins Instant Light Blush

The Clarins Instant Light Blush is part of their beautiful spring collection.

There are three limited edition shades to choose from - Vitamin Pink, Coral Tonic and Brown Fizz. I have already reviewed the Pink and Coral which you can read here. I was so impressed with them I decided to buy Brown Fizz to complete the set. I wont bore you too much with the details as this is exactly the same product - however I do feel that this one is slightly more pigmented than the pink and coral - this one would look fantastic with a tan to enhance your colour and give you a gorgeous glow.

To apply you dot the liquid blush on to your cheeks then blend out to your temples using the large foam applicators - I do this after I have applied my base.

Brown Fizz has a gorgeous duo-chrome effect with a golden shimmer to it and has a slightly orange undertone.

I havent blended it too much so you can get an idea of the colour.

Im really impressed with the Clarins Instant Light Blush, it delivers a beautiful wash of colour, its lovely to wear and it does give your skin a radiant glow. I would say the pink and coral would be fantastic for people with fairer skin and the bronze would look great with a tan or on someone with a darker skintone.
They are limited edition but they can still be purchased from the Clarins website for £19.00.

Loreal Lumi Magique Primer

I love highlighters - Im a big fan of that luminous, dewy make up look, I think it looks beautiful so when I discovered the new Loreal Lumi Magique Primer which is designed to give skin that luminous glow I parted with my cash without hesitation. My favourite highlighting cream is Mac Strobe but I think this is fantastic if you dont want to spend as much. This wonderful little product which will infuse your skin with a beautiful mother of pearl glow comes in a slim size tube with a handy pump dispenser so you use as little or as much as you like.

The lotion itself is extremely light and feels quite hydrating on the skin, infact Loreal guarantee that this will provide your skin with up to 8 hours of continuous hydration. It can be used as a primer before your make up and gives you a fantastic base on which to apply your foundation, it will also help keep your make up in place whilst giving your skin a luminous glow or you can use it as a highlighter - it looks great applied to the tops of your cheek bones. I tend to mix it through my foundation or BB cream which is a little trick Ive been using for a while now - it gives you a lovely radiant glow - Loreal advise that you could pop some lotion on your fingers and draw a 3 from forehead, nose to chin for maximum effect - just remember to do both sides.

Overall Im really impressed with this primer - it doesnt quite replace my favourite Mac Strobe cream but its a little beauty bargain - I bought mine from Boots online for £9.99 and Loreal has a 3 for 2 promotion on at the moment so you could save yourself some cash if you wanted to try this out.

Soap & Glory - the bigger the butter

I was out shopping at the weekend and I was really excited to get my hands on one of Soap and Glory's limited edition Righteous Butters. Im a massive Soap and Glory fan and think that their body moisturisers and scrubs are just amazing. This is one huge tub of moisturiser !! One litre to be precise !

This limited edition version has been infused with diamond-dust particles to give your skin a wonderful sheen from head to toe and for Righteous Butter fans it has the same wonderful original pink scent - Soap and Glory describe it as a "summery fragrance with orange leaf, lemon, peach, sweet strawberries, summer rose, gardenia blooms and jasmine" .

This feels wonderfully luxurious on the skin - I feel that its a rich, heavy body butter but it sinks in quickly leaving your skin feeling soft and moisturised. I slather this on all over after my shower in the morning onto damp skin to help lock in the moisture.
Hopefully you can see lovely sheen on my skin in the next shot.

If you would like to buy your own limited edition butter then head on over to Boots online and this can be yours for £25 - now you may think that this is a little steep but the 300ml size would cost you £10.50 so 3 of the 300ml tubs would cost you £31.50 and you still would need an extra 100ml of it to give you a litre ! Hope that makes sense - maths was never my subject.
If you are thinking of buying this then be quick as only 2000 of these were made and according to the Soap and Glory website as of the 14/03 there were only 1347 left.

For more details on Soap and Glory products check out their fantastic website soapandglory.com

Friday night nails

Tonight I am wearing two colours by China Glaze -
Blue Years Eve which is a vibrant royal sparkly blue with a deep magenta hue to it and Snow Globe which is an irridescent glitter polish with small and large flecks of glitter.
China Glaze is pretty new to me but I have to say that Im really impressed with the consistency, pigmentation of colour and ease of application, not to mention that the polish dries in super quick time.
This is two coats of Blue Years Eve and two coats of Snow Globe - to get this finish I lightly dabbed on the first coat of Snow Globe then brushed on the second.

Two coats of Blue Years Eve

Two coats of Snow Globe

I am really loving this and I have to say the camera really doesnt do this justice.
Blue Years Eve and Snow Globe can be purchased from Nail Polish Direct for £5.95.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Lipstick Fridays

Today Im wearing a fairly recent purchase - the gorgeous Mac Lustre lipstick in Syrup. This is a semi sheer lipstick with a beautiful glossy finish and it feels wonderfully moisturising on my lips. Mac describe this lipstick as a cloudy pink, I feel it has a slightly mauve tinge to it with blue undertones. Although this lipstick is a semi sheer it is still highly pigmented but I do find that I need to re-apply it more often than I would a matte lipstick - I dont find this much of a problem though because its so lovely to wear and I love the vanilla fragrance.

What lipstick are you wearing today ?
Mac Syrup can be purchased from Mac online for £13.50.

March Amarya Box

Its beauty box time again.
Im going to keep it short and sweet this month - I wasn't disappointed with this months box but I wasnt over the moon about it either. The products are fab and the Amarya box is excellent value for money but I definately think they really spoiled us with last months box. I love natural and organic products but I felt the products in this months box had more of a manly feel about them so my husband is now the proud owner of the John Masters Shampoo and Lip Calm.

This month in my Amarya box I received a full size bottle of John Masters Organics lavender rosemary shampoo which retails at £16, a full size of the John Masters Lip Calm which retails at £6, a sample of Ren anti-ageing concentrate and a sample of Inlight Daily Face Oil. You can subsribe to Amarya for just £10 a month.

Has anyone else received the Amarya Box this month ?
What did you think ?

Nanoblur Review

Hi everyone

Im sure you've all been hearing about a new wonder cream which has recently been released in the UK called Nanoblur. This cruelty free cream promises that you will "Look up to ten years younger in forty seconds or less". Thats quite a promise and when this popped up on Buyapowa a few weeks ago I thought I would give it a try even though I was a little sceptical about the results.

Nanoblur is not make up, it is made using advanced optics technology and provides "Superficial optical coverage of skin imperfections". I bought this cream to try to see if it would help the little lines which have been appearing around my eye area seemingly on a daily basis - why is it as soon as you notice a wrinkle it seems to all of a sudden get bigger overnight ?!

Nanoblur is an untinted skin cream which is not at all what I was expecting. I expected it to be more like a BB cream - which of course it's not ! Nanoblur can be used without makeup or after your liquid foundation and it helps to smooth away those imperfections.

I have to say that I am actually astounded by the results. When you apply the cream it has a nice cooling effect on the skin and will remain there until you remove your makeup at the end of the day.
I dont find it to be drying on my face but I do have combination skin.
Nanoblur really does work - now it wont give you a face lift and make your wrinkles disappear for good but it really does help make those little lines look less visible. I find the effects quite subtle but it has definately made my eye area look alot smoother and younger - hooray !

Before

After

Nanoblur can be purchased from Boots online for £19.99 or you check out Buyapowa they will send a reminder to your email when this is back on sale.
What do you guys think ?
Have you tried this yet ?
