Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector

I have always loved Clarins beauty products and I get even more excited about Clarins make up.
One of my very favourite products from the Clarins make up range is their lipgloss - in a word its amazing - I absolutely love it, I cant gush about it enough, it has to be said that I am very fussy when it comes to lip gloss. I like something that smells nice, feels smooth and luxurious on
your lips, isnt sticky, oh and if it tastes nice thats always a bonus.
( I dont ask for much - ha !)

Ive have had my eye on Instant Light Lip Perfector (thats a mouthful) for a while so I decided to treat myself to the Rose Shimmer shade which is N0 1 in the range of three that are available.
I purchased mine from the Feel Unique website for £11.40 with free delivery.

The Clarins Natural Lip Perfector makes your lips look fuller and gives them a lovely natural shine as it contains light reflecting pigments. The product contains mango butter, Shea butter and vitamins A and E so its extremely moisturising and will help prevent peeling and flaking.

The lip gloss comes in a tube with a sponge applicator at the end for precision application, like any gloss it doesnt last long on the lips but to be honest it has the most gorgeous vanilla smell and tastes very sweet so it isnt much of a problem to re-apply it.

When applied it has a really subtle finish, it contains a slight rose shimmer (hence the name) and it looks great if you are looking for something more natural.
My lips feel moisturised and smooth after using this for just a day.
This is a lovely product and I definately think I will be trying the other colours from the range.

What's your favourite lip gloss ?

Nail of the day

To say I have an obsession with nail polish would be an understatement. I think that having nicely manicured, painted nails can really complete your look.
Continuing on my search for my "ultimate nude" today Im wearing the gorgeous Yummy Mummy from Butter London which can be purchased from their online store for £12.
Butter London nail lacquers are non-toxic and 3 free which means they dont contain formaldehyde, toluene, or DBP (phthalate) - great for those who may have reactions to nail polish.
Butter London describe Yummy Mummy as a medium nude beige - it also has a slight shimmer to it. I really love the way it looks on my nails, it is nice and natural looking without being too matte or too sparkly - I think I may have found my new favourite nude polish.
Two coats were enough to achieve this finish - the brush is a great size so it makes for easy application, it dried quickly to a nice shiny finish and I think this would look great on any skin tone.

What do you have on your nails today ?

Friday Night Nails

I seem to be having a Barry M day today.
Tonight Im wearing the beautiful Grey Nail Paint by Barry M which can be purchased for £2.99 from the online store. This is a gorgeous colour, it looks quite blue toned in the pictures and I think its a little different from the colours I usually wear. Application was fantastic and a beautiful shiny finish was achieved with two coats. Perfect.

What do you guys think ?

Lipstick Fridays

Today Im wearing the gorgeous Vintage Rose by Barry M.
This is nice neutral shade which I think would suit most complexions.
The lipstick is highly pigmented and feels smooth and creamy on application however after a few minutes I did tend to find it rather drying - this is a lovely colour but I definately needed a slick of balm or gloss with this to counteract the drying effect.
Barry M Lip Paint is available to buy from the online store for £4.49.

Whats your favourite Barry M Lip Paint ?

Friday Night Nails

This Friday night Im wearing the fantastic Jem by Zoya which is from the Smoke and Mirrors collection. Jem is an amazing opaque deep purple polish with golden undertones and has a hint of pinky purple shimmer to it. What I did notice though is when applied you dont really get the hint of gold which you see in the bottle - Strange !
Zoya nail polish is a dream to apply and I achieved this finish with two coats .
Jem was quick to dry and had a lovely shiny finish.
Very striking indeed.
Zoya nail polish can be purchased from LalaofLondon.com for £9.99.

Lipstick Fridays

Todays lipstick is one Ive had for a while, I had kind of forgotten about until I was rumaging about my lipsticks to see what one I was going to wear today.
This Friday Im wearing Blondie Pink by Bobbi Brown which can be purchased online for £18.00. Blondie Pink is described as a medium nude pink and is amazing to wear, its rich in pigments, glides on easily and is so soft and creamy but feels lightweight on the lips.

Benefit Hervana

This week Im loving Benefits new Hervana face powder.

In the pan it has four different shades of powder which contain gorgeous glittery shimmery pigments in them and when you brush it on your cheeks it gives them a natural just pinched glow.

The shade itself is really quite pale and I did have to build up the colour but it really gives a lovely natural finish.

To apply I use a blusher brush and swirl all the shades together then I dust the powder over the apples of my cheeks for a lovely rosy glow.
Benefits Hervana blusher can be purchased from Benefit online for £23.50.

Whats your favourite blusher ?

Mua Love Hearts Lip Balms

As I was doing a spot of internet browsing I came across the new Love Hearts Collection from Makeup Academy. This is such a sweet collection - pardon the pun - and there are five lip balms and six bottles of nail varnish to collect. The lip balms and nail polishes all have fab names like Sugar Lips and I Want You and can be purchased from the MUA store online for £2.00.

I decided to buy some of the lip balms at £2.00 - I thought well at that price you cant go wrong.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these - they feel lovely on your lips and not at all sticky so they are nice to wear and the feel really moisturising. My lips had felt rather dry this morning but after a day of wearing this they now feel nicely moisturised and quite soft.  The only thing I would say is I was kind of expecting them to have a fruity smell and taste which they dont but other than that they are fab little pots of balm to keep in your handbag to give you lips a hint of colour and shine.

I think these are a great little bargain for £2.00 - Whats your favourite lip balm ?

Guest Post - First Time at Lush:The Truth

This is a guest post written by Eva from Rocking Fabulous.
Eva is a new blogger who will be writing about all the things that can make a girl smile from beauty products and fashion to living a fun and healthy lifestyle.
Check out Eva's new blog for more tips, tricks and reviews!

This post could have been alternatively titled “The Quick Jump from Lush-Virgin to Lush-Addict”. Three days ago, I was still a Lush Virgin as one beauty blogger put it.
I had never been in a Lush store, I had never smelled a Lush product but now I know exactly just how much I was missing!
The first time I stepped into Lush, I was greeted by a smiling sales girl who offered to show me around. A few minutes later I decided that this store should definitely be given an award for the most helpful and insightful staff in the city. I have heard many great things about Lush sales people in other parts of the world, too, so if you are unsure about something, just ask them. You may end up with a new friend, heaps of advice and a full bag of Lush goodies.
Another tip for a Lush newbie: do your research before you go into the store or you will end up destroying your budget. Lush is full of amazing products which are basically begging to be taken home - from face masks to shampoos and tons of bath and shower goodies, it is hard to figure out what exactly you want.

So what did I buy?

Yes - the famous Lush Cupcake mask. It got my attention because of the chocolate-y smell, and also because I had read quite a few great reviews about it. I will be doing a full review on my blog soon but right now I can already say that I really, really like it. The mask has calmed my breakouts, and left my skin feeling clean and fresh. Another thing? It smells and looks like something you could eat so before putting it in the refrigerator, I put a sticky note on it, saying “Please don’t eat”.
You can officially call me a Lush addict now. I will definitely be returning to the store soon, and if you haven’t checked it out yet, I recommend that you do so. It is really worth it!

Lots of Love
Eva

February Amarya Box

This month I have only one word to describe Amarya's February Beauty Box.
AMAZING !

In this months box I received a Neom Happiness Treatment Travel Candle which retails for £13.00, a full size Zoya nail polish in Avery which retails for £10, a 15ml tube of Organic Avocado Replenishing cream which retails for £6 and a 15ml sachet of Organic Rose Moisturiser all for just £10 and no extra charge for postage.

Ive been wanting to try a Neom candle for a while so I was really over the moon when I seen this nestling in the box - the smell is divine, its fragranced with white neroli, mimosa, lemon and natural fresh grass notes to "create the awakening of spring". Neom candles are made with 100% vegetable wax and pure aromatherapy oils so they burn cleanly. It really does smell just like spring in a jar and the website says " This lively blend of happy notes will make you smile, take the weight off your shoulders and sprinkle a little joy into your world"
 I know Im smiling !

Zoya is a brand I have known for a few years and they do a fantastic range of nail polish colours. Zoya is also free from formadehyde, toluene and Camphor and formulated to deliver the longest wear possible on natural nails. I received the gorgeous Avery which is described as a blonde, beige cream which I think delivers a perfect nude coloured look on the nails.

The next product is a brand that Im not familiar with and is from a company called Essential care. Im a huge fan of Dr Haushka Rose Day Cream but I think this little tube of Organic Avocado Replenshing Cream may become another favourite. This smells amazing and feels light on the skin,  the website describes it as " a sumptuous aromatherapeutic night or rich day cream with nature's finest contribution to smoothing out lines and promoting skin regeneration" It really feels like its giving your skin a little drink and my face was baby smooth after using it.

The last product is a sachet of the Essential Care Organic Rose Moisuriser , the website says this is "a luxurious, antioxidant light-textured day-cream" and is "naturally high in antioxidants of vitamins A & E ". This moisturiser was quickly absorbed and has a nice light texture to it and as it contains rose it smells beautiful.

Im glad Amarya included the Essential Care products in this months box as its probably not a brand I would have went out of my way to try however I will definately be giving one of these moisturisers a try when my rose day cream runs out.

Overall another amazing box from Amarya.

How was your beauty box this month?

Friday night nails

This Friday night I decided to wear my Barry M nail polish in Raspberry.
Barry M offer a wide range of award winning nail colours and they can be purchased online for the bargain price of £2.99.

I applied the Barry M 3 in 1 nail paint  to prepare my nails for the polish - this is a basecoat, topcoat and nail hardener in one. I then applied two coats of Raspberry followed by the 3 in 1 as a topcoat. This nail polish has a fantastic consistency so is easy to apply, the brush is the perfect size to help you achieve a neat and tidy finish and when dry the polish has a fantastic glossy shine.

Im really impressed with this polish, I would actually go as far as to say that I achieved a nicer finish with this than some of the more expensive brands I have tried. This is a recent purchase from the Barry M range and I will definately be buying more, for £2.99 you cant go wrong.

What are you wearing on your nails this Friday night ?
