Lipstick Fridays Chanel Boy Rouge Coco Shine

Today I have been wearing the gorgeous, subtle, glossy Chanel Boy. This is such a wearable pink and has a very shiney my-lips-but-better look to it. I cannot say enough good things about this lipstick - the formula is fantastic, it feels lovely and moisturising on your lips and it really is a joy to wear. This is a semi-sheer lipstick which is a very pale beigey/pink and has small flecks of micro-shimmer in it which I think I have just about captured in my pictures.

I purchased this from The Garden Pharmacy for £24 - has anyone else tried this?

Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector

One of my most favourite brand of glosses has to be Clarins - I have the Instant Light Lip Perfector in Rose Shimmer and have now added the Nude Shimmer to my ever expanding makeup collection.
The Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector makes your lips look fuller and gives them a lovely natural shine as it contains light reflecting pigments. The product contains mango butter, Shea butter and vitamins A and E so its extremely moisturising and will help prevent peeling and flaking.

The lip gloss comes in a tube with a sponge applicator at the end for precision application, like any gloss it doesnt last long on the lips but to be honest it has the most gorgeous vanilla smell and tastes very sweet so it isnt much of a problem to re-apply it.

When applied it has a really subtle finish, it contains a slight nude shimmer.
Fantastic for giving your lips a gorgeous glossy finish - you wont be able to put this down !

Gorgeous product - Im off to buy the Apricot Version now - ha ha.
I bought mine from Escentual for £12.80.

Have you tried these yet?

Loreal Lumi Magique Highlighting Pen

Im probably a bit late to the party with this one but I am enjoying using it so much I had to write a review. The  L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighter Pen is very similar to the hugely successful YSL Touche Eclat - to be honest I dont know why I bought this as I was never a huge fan of the Touche Eclat but I was so impressed with the Lumi Magique Primer that I had tried from Loreal that I decided I had to give this a go.
The product is available in three shades - light, medium and dark. To dispense the product you turn the base of the pen which distributes the product into the brush at the top - this brush is perfect for precision application.

I purchased the light shade which has pinky undertones to it which will help disguise dark shadows under your eye area. The product is quite thick and when applied it has a very slight shimmer to it which I havent been able to pick up in the photos.

Loreal Lumi Magique helped disguise my under eye shadows without creasing or settling in to my wrinkles and lasted for around seven hours - you could also use this to add a subtle highlight to your cheek bones. This is a fab multi purpose highlighting product and definitely worth a try.

Lush

I have always loved Lush bath products - the bombs and bubble bars are just amazing. For some strange reason I haven't purchased anything from Lush for quite a while so when I was at a job interview a few weeks back and noticed the gorgeous smell wafting out of the Lush shop I couldnt help but pop in for a peek. I purchased two items - the Comforter Bubble Bar and the Bubblegum Lip Scrub.

The Comforter Bubble Bar is gorgeous - it smells of blackcurrant and you crumble it under hot running water which gives you fantastic bubbles and turns the water a lovely pinky purple colour. I will definitely be buying more of these, I love bubbles in my bath. To get the most out of your comforter bar the best thing to do is cut it into separate pieces - I cut mine into 8 - which makes it really economical for the price you pay.

I have also totally fallen in love with my other purchase - the Lush Bubblegum Lipscrub, it even tastes yummy although its probably best not to eat the whole jar ha ha.
The unpredictable weather has been playing havoc with my lips but I have used this a couple of times and I have to say its gotten rid of the little dry bits of skin - I like to use this and then pop some on some lip balm - exfoliate and moisturise, the key to smooth silky skin.

What are your favourite Lush products?

The Lush Comforter Bar costs £4.15 and the Bubblegum Lip Scrub costs £4.95 - both can be purchased from Lush.

Lipstick Fridays Mac Ruby Woo

As I am wearing Shellac I have decided to do a Friday Night Lipstick feature this week.
I have been feeling really inspired by brighter colours the last few weeks and this evening I have decided to give my new Mac Ruby Woo lipstick its first outing. This is a matte cool toned red lipstick - the packaging is chic, the formulation is fantastic and pigmentation is amazing. This lipstick is definitely not one for the faint hearted.
I wasnt feeling quite brave enough to wear it on its own so I decided to add a splash of Clarins Gloss Prodige in Grenadine.

Mac Ruby Woo can be purchased from Mac online for £13.50 and Clarins Gloss Prodige can be purchased from Escentual.com for a special price of £12.40.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Lipstick Fridays Estee Lauder Crystal Baby

This Friday I am wearing the gorgeous Crystal Baby lipstick by Estee Lauder.
I love everything about this lipstick. The packaging is beautiful, the formulation is fantastic, it smells lovely and is so versatile, I think it would pretty much suit any skin tone. It is a very soft pale pink lipstick which just makes your lips look truely kissable. This lipstick is so soft and creamy and when applied gives your lips a lovely pinky sheen.
Loving it !!

Guest Post by Rachael Sage

My name is Rachael Sage and I'm a singer-songwriter and touring artist, as well as an actress. I recently released my brand new album, "Haunted By You", and am so excited to be going on tour for most of the summer! As a performer, I love wearing bright, bold colors on stage and that carries through to my makeup...and especially to my bright red lipstick.

Before a big tour I always make sure I have makeup that will inspire me and coordinate well with my wardrobe. Right now my hair is magenta and my favorite colors are purple and blue, but my signature is always to wear a bold, red lip even if the shade varies. My current favorite is CoverGirl LipPerfection in a shade called "Tempt"; it really stays on a long time, but without drying out my lips which is important when you have as many lyrics as I do - I need my lips to always feel hydrated and smooth or you can actually get "stuck" trying to articulate your lyrics!

Recently I appeared in a multi-media show at Lincoln Center in NYC, where I not only had to perform my music, but also act. The show was about my romantic relationship to a chef, so it was part of the action for me to eat and drink during some of the scenes; I didn't want to leave lipstick-marks on my glass or on the other utensils when I ate though - because that just doesn't look very nice to an audience.

For those particular shows, I decided to try a long-lasting lip color - Wet 'N Wild Mega Last in "Red Velvet" - and I was very happy with it for performance. It did feel slightly more drying than some other regular lipsticks, but it stayed completely on my lips, where it was supposed to ...even while I was eating and drinking through a two hour play. It's great to know that if I really need a long-wearing lip color, I have one in my arsenal now - like having a second guitar or being able to do a different accent; as a performing artist and in terms of my personal style, I'm all about range, and never being afraid to change things up a little!
